Press Release for the Search of a Missing Woman in Mount Beles.

19/11/2013

Once again, OFKATH (Thermaikos Coast Hunting Association) was present at the search of a missing woman in Mt Beles. After having contacted the Police Department of Serres, members of the mountain rescue department of OFKATH offered their assistance to the 2nd Unit of EMAK (Hellenic Special Force Rescue Team of the Helenic Fire Service) in tracing evidence on a case which had been source of concern for the local community for 7 months.

The operation was quite demanding due to the lack of accessibility in the area, which made the on-foot approach impossible and so the tracing was done with the use of rescue climbing equipment.
The hunters of the association, through their knowledge of the mountains, have offered significant assistance to the authorities involved. OFKATH would like to thank the Readiness Base of Kilkis and the Saint Pavlos Rescue Team for setting up a mixed rescue team, the Sintiki EPOMEA (Special Missions Unit) as well as the State Authorities for their impeccable cooperation.
